Technology That Serves Michigan's Schools
Our technology partnerships exist for one reason: to bring enterprise-grade tools to your district at no cost. Each partnership is chosen to reduce cost, complexity, and risk for Michigan school districts. Here's who we work with and what it means for you.
The MiCloud Advantage
What consolidation through MiCloud means for your district.
Collective Buying Power
56 ISDs and 800+ districts together get pricing, support tiers, and partnership levels that no single district could achieve alone.
Shared Security Expertise
One team of experts secures infrastructure for many districts — instead of each district trying to build security expertise independently.
Economies of Scale
Shared tools like Veeam and CubeBackup are available at no cost because the investment is distributed across the entire program — not borne by individual districts.
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
AWS provides the cloud infrastructure backbone for MiCloud services. Their dedicated K-12 Education team works directly with us to ensure Michigan schools get the reliability, security, and scalability that large enterprises rely on — but designed for education workloads and budgets.
MiCloud holds AWS Select Tier partnership status, providing access to enhanced support resources, education-specific pricing, and technical expertise that individual districts couldn't access on their own.
Ingram Micro
Ingram Micro provides technical services and distribution support that streamline how districts access cloud tools. Their Cloud Viability Assessment (CVA) portfolio helps districts understand their readiness and plan their journey — with MiCloud engineers guiding every step.
This partnership means districts don't have to figure out AWS purchasing, licensing, or procurement processes on their own.
Veeam
Veeam is the gold standard in backup and data recovery for on-premise servers and AWS cloud infrastructure. Through MiCloud's partnership, every partner district gets access to Veeam's full-featured backup platform at zero cost — protecting your physical and virtual servers both on-site and in the cloud.
Veeam licenses alone would typically cost districts thousands per year. Through MiCloud's grant funding, they're included at no cost.
CubeBackup
CubeBackup provides automated backup for your district's Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace data — including email, Drive/OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. Through MiCloud, districts get comprehensive SaaS backup at no cost.
With increasing ransomware threats and accidental data loss, protecting your M365 and Google environment is critical. CubeBackup ensures your district's cloud-based data is recoverable regardless of what happens.
MAISA
MAISA has been a key strategic partner in promoting and supporting the MiCloud project. Their contributions have included conducting the initial feasibility study, which served as the foundation for our grant proposal.
Why These Partnerships Matter
Every partnership MiCloud maintains exists to reduce cost and complexity for your district. We leverage volume purchasing, education-specific programs, and grant funding to bring tools to Michigan schools that would otherwise be out of reach — both financially and in terms of expertise required to manage them.
