Built by Educators, for Educators

MiCloud isn't a vendor — we're fellow Michigan educators. Operated through Kalamazoo RESA and guided by an Advisory Committee representing all 10 MAISA regions(opens in new tab), we understand K-12 technology because we work in it every day.

Our team of cloud engineers has been building and managing AWS infrastructure for Michigan schools since 2017. Now, thanks to $31.6M in MDE grant funding, we can bring that expertise to every public school entity in the state through the 2027-28 school year.

What Districts Are Saying

Hear from Michigan tech directors and administrators using MiCloud services.

"Taylor School District increased its resilience through redundancies provided by AWS that prevent single points of failure. This shift eliminates the steep capital expenditures associated with purchasing, maintaining, and upgrading on-site servers, leading to substantial savings on hardware costs."

John Ross
Director of Technology, Taylor School District

"With the grant we are able to migrate to AWS and avoid spending approximately $300,000 on hardware and virtual server licensing. We are able to reduce our backup costs while maintaining an offline backup."

Paul Mulder
Tech Director, Allendale Public Schools

"As an ISD, we exist to do some things more efficiently with a centralized approach than each of our school districts could do on their own. MiCloud brings that approach to a statewide scale with huge potential for cost savings and efficiency. Instead of hundreds of school districts or even 56 ISDs each needing their own cloud expert, one team at the state level is bringing that benefit to all of us."

Doug Olson
Technology Systems Manager, Northwest Education Services

"Since moving to MiCloud for our VEEAM server backups, we have saved money and ended up with a better backup solution than what we had in place before. It has been a win on both cost and capability."

Ryun Landheer
Chief Director, Ravenna Public Schools

"Our experience working with MiCloud has been excellent. Their team has been organized, responsive, and easy to work with throughout the project. They answered questions quickly, addressed issues as they came up, and their engineers worked directly with our team to implement the necessary changes."

Peter Klein
Technology Services Director, Clinton County RESA

"Working with MiCloud has been great. Their attentive, and involved approach has been thorough, professional, and has had great results. Because of their expertise, especially with their educational experience, has made our migrations as smooth as possible."

John Anderson
Sr. Technology Support Specialist, Northwest Education Services

"We got a ticket from a user in a panic about files that needed restoration that weren't showing up in a SharePoint recycle bin. The team was undergoing an audit and needed the files right away. I popped into our CubeBackup Instance, found the SharePoint Site, scrolled back to when they last had the folder and restored it in a few button clicks. We were hoping to never have to use the backups, but they came in handy and we didn't have to search through a bunch of Microsoft SharePoint logs or eDiscovery. Super happy to be using CubeBackup!"

Corey Thorp
Systems Engineer, Kalamazoo RESA

"I would recommend MiCloud to any district who is considering a move to the cloud. I would also recommend them for a consult even if you aren't considering the cloud as an alternative to on-premises hardware. I am old school and didn't want to give up my servers, but the pros outweigh the cons in so many ways."

John Ross
Director of Technology, Taylor School District
